A kaleidoscopic musical drama about the extraordinary life and works of New Zealand-born modernist writer Katherine Mansfield, and her lifelong love affair with publisher John Middleton Murry, who ensured her legacy. Her short intense life was crammed with experiences that she transmuted into visceral writing, which have steadily grown in reputation
in the century since her death.
Two Tigers is currently in development for performances
to mark the centenary of Katherine Mansfield's death in
2023
Composer of Two Tigers, Sue Casson is presently looking through her original score and notes to re-imagine the show a lifetime on. In a new series of blogs, Mansfield Musings, she looks afresh at different aspects of the pioneering writer's life and her own continuing affinity with her subject as she revisits her songs and scenes.
