Latest episode of the human rights podcast is the first to feature music – ours!

English Cabaret’s Tom Blackmore sat down with leading human rights lawyer Adam Wagner earlier this month to talk about his grandfather David Maxwell Fyfe for the latest episode of his Better Human podcast.

Tom describes our unusual living commemoration of Fyfe’s legacy, Dreams of Peace & Freedom in the light of the current consultation of HRA reform, for this ‘special musical episode’ as Adam called it, adding ‘if you haven’t ever heard Magna Carta sung you’re in for a treat’. It is the first of his Better Human series of podcasts to feature music.

Excerpts from The Soldier and Safety were also played to intersperse ‘a fascinating discussion’ which ranged from the nature of human rights and hopes for a better world after WWII by way of Tolkien, CS Lewis and AA Milne, with whom, as Tom revealed, Fyfe has a special connection.

You can hear the podcast Episode 58 entitled Tolerance, Decency, Kindliness – Where do human rights come from now on a variety of platforms including Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
